How do we keep Jesus as our role model?

Keeping Jesus center in an “influencer” world…
It’s easy to admire people who inspire us: pastors, leaders, or public figures who seem to live out their faith boldly. But our eyes were never meant to stay on people.
Even the most faithful human being can only reflect Jesus imperfectly.
When we make Jesus our role model, Lord, and Savior, we’re not just following an example...we’re entering into transformation. He doesn’t just show us how to live; He empowers us to live that way.
“Celebrity pastor” or “influencer” culture can be dangerous because when our faith becomes attached to a person instead of a Savior, it starts to crumble the moment that person fails. The early church wrestled with this too, and Paul’s words still stand:
“What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?”” (1 Corinthians 1:12-13, NIV)
The truth is, no pastor, no influencer, no leader....no matter how eloquent or inspiring....died for your sins or can carry your soul.
Only Jesus can. 🤍
Only Jesus did. ✝️
Healthy leaders always point away from themselves and back to Him.
Like John the Baptist said: “He must become greater; I must become less.” (John 3:30, NIV)
🌱 We can admire others for how they reflect Christ, but do not imitate them…we must always and only imitate Christ.
The goal isn’t to become a copy of your favorite Christian figure; it’s to conform to the image of Christ by following Christ and Christ alone. 🤍
Because at the end of the day: we don’t need another role model, we need a Redeemer.
