Does God really forgive me?

If you’ve ever asked that question, you’re not alone.
Jesus knew we’d wrestle with it, so He told a story.
A son who walked away, wasted everything, and hit rock bottom.
He rehearsed his apology, thinking maybe his dad would take him back as a servant.
But instead, the father saw him from a long way off, ran to him, and threw a feast.
That’s the picture Jesus chose to give us of God’s forgiveness.
It’s not reluctant.
It’s not, “Well… fine, I’ll take you back this time.”
It’s running, embracing, celebrating.
Here’s the truth:
📖 Forgiveness isn’t based on how “clean” you come back, it’s based on God’s mercy (Luke 15:20–24).
📖 Every sin, past or present, is covered by the cross of Jesus (Colossians 2:13–14).
📖 When we repent, God doesn’t just forgive…He restores us as sons and daughters (1 John 1:9, Romans 8:15).
So if you’ve been carrying the weight of wondering whether God could really forgive you, this is your reminder.
The answer is yes.
His arms are open.
His grace is enough. 🤍
🙌 Praise God for that kind of forgiveness.
